Getting started...

In order to add a Keytrade Bank current account into Cake, you need... 🤔

  1. your bank card,

  2. a Keytrade Bank hardkey (card reader) or a softkey (QR code), and

  3. the Keytrade Mobile app needs to be installed on your smartphone.

Here are a few tips to help you connect your account with the softkey:

  1. Make sure you have the latest version of the Keytrade app installed

  2. Select “Softkey” in the Keytrade web flow

  3. Manually open the Keytrade app and a sign-request will pop-up

  4. Sign the request with your PIN code

  5. Return to the Cake app and follow the instructions

That’s it! Your Keytrade account is now connected to Cake.🎉

If you choose the hard key, make sure you own the digipass 2.0. ✨

Older digipasses won’t work.

If you don’t own a digipass 2.0, you can request one at your local Keytrade bank. 🏦

Credit card(s)

The European Bank Authority stated that banks have to support credit cards in the shortest possible timeframe.

We are expecting this in 2022. 📅

Savings and investments account(s)

The European legislation currently doesn't allow you to add your savings or investments account(s) in Cake. 😢😭

Using the "Add Account" flow, you can however store the number of these accounts in Cake.

This will enable us to start tracking transfers to/from your savings or investment accounts. 🎉

How much data does Keytrade provide?

The operating model of Cake is built upon the European Payment Service Directive version 2 (PSD2) directive. Under this directive, European consumers can request their bank to share their data with Trusted Third Parties (TPPs) such as Cake. 🎉

* A TPP, like Cake, is licensed and under the rigorous supervision of the National Bank where the company was launched. In the case of Cake, it's the National Bank of Belgium.

The PSD2 directive states that the banks should deliver the same data to Cake as it does to its own channels. This is however not already the case for all banks. 🤔

Currently, Keytrade Bank only provides 1 year of data to Cake. This means that, upon connecting your Keytrade Bank account, you can only see 12 months worth of data in your Cake app. 📅

Cake will, however, accumulate your transaction data; so after for example 3 months, the Cake app will be able to provide you insights for 15 months.

Note: We are in discussion with Keytrade Bank and the National Bank of Belgium to ensure that the legal obligations are addressed in the coming months. 🤞

⚠️ If an error occurs or the flow fails, please do not hesitate to contact us using the "Support" function in the Cake app (Cake logo in the top right corner > Control centre > Support).💬
